UTAH ROAD TRIP RECAP - Part 1

ree

We began our adventure on a Thursday. Spent the whole morning packing up the trailer and getting everything we needed for our 10 day escapade.

We finally hit the road in the early afternoon, destined for St. George, UT. The plan was to get there before dark to find a place to set up camp for the night near a trail we wanted to mountain bike the next day. With all the driving we were doing, I packed lots of snacks for us. Check out the blog post I created for Road Trip Snacks!

It's about a 5 1/2 hour drive (without towing a 35ft trailer) so we planned for about 6 1/2 - 7 hours with gas stops and a quick dinner.

We made it to a little dirt road area where we decided to set up for the night at about 9:30pm.

Friday morning, we both worked in the morning and then checked out Zen Trial, which is a 7 mile Black Diamond trail. It was challenging, for sure! But it led to some incredible views and I met Ted the turtle , who I definitely thought was going to pass me at some points on the trail.

After finishing up that ride, we quickly showered and packed the bikes up to hit the road again!

Now we were headed to Little Sahara, UT for Brian's race. This was about a 5 hour drive and we were fortunate to arrive before dark and find a place to set up right at the pit area.

Brian raced on Saturday, while I manned the pit. He did great and had so much fun!

After the race, we cleaned up and packed up to hit the road....again.

Saturday night, we headed to MOAB, UT!! This was a 5 hour drive and we were definitely tired of being in the car at this point. We had some back-up plans to stay a little outside of Moab if we were getting too tired, but ultimately decided to just get to Moab so we could be there Sunday morning and start adventuring!

Sunday we made it to Arches NP, which was one of my favorite spots, so Part 2 will be dedicated to that!
