Even on the road, we both still had to work. We made the best of that and planned some evening adventures!
Monday: We rode the Klonzo Loop Trail. 7 miles of smooth flowy single track and I loved every minute of it! This was my favorite loop of the whole trip! It helped me build my confidence since it wasn't super technical.
Tuesday: From our campground, we could see the Off Road Trail to Gemini Bridges and couldn't wait to take the truck up there. We did about 13 miles of off roading and found the hiking trail for Gemini Bridges and hiked about a mile and explored for a bit before heading to the Mustang MTB trail. This was a flowy 5 mile single track, which ended with an amazing sunset!
Wednesday: We needed to do laundry, so we worked at a coffee shop in town and spent the afternoon exploring the shops and grabbing lunch in the Food Truck Park! We then drove along the Colorado River to the Corona Arch trail, a 2.5 mile out and back hike. After the hike, we drove to the famous Black Diamond Slick Rock Trail. The sun was setting, so we rode for about 3 miles. This trail was difficult, but super cool to try a different terrain!
Thursday: We rode the North 40 trail, a 6 mile single track with lots of technical and some fun flowy sections! We also went on a Colorado River Boat tour at sunset!
Friday: We packed up and hit the road to head home. We drove a long 8 hours with no cell service to Flagstaff, AZ.
Friday: We got up early and got the trailer packed up and ready to go, then spent the morning in downtown Moab enjoying some breakfast and preparing to hit the road! We weren't exactly sure where we stopping yet, but the goal was Flagstaff, AZ or Sedona, AZ. It was a long, boring drive through Indian Reservation and absolutely no cell service/radio stations! I'm pretty sure the drive felt even longer since we knew we were starting the return trip home. We made it to Flagstaff at about 10pm and had found a great little campground to stay for the night! It was quiet, peaceful and chilly! And the stars were just amazing!
Saturday: We hadn't quite decided what we were going to do for the day. The options were Mountain Biking in Sedona (about a 2 hour drive from where we were) or exploring Flagstaff. Due to the logistics of having to pack the trailer up again and find a place to stay in Sedona (or drive 4 hours and then have to drive that way again on Sunday), we opted for exploring Flagstaff. We checked out the Sunset Crater and some lava rocks nearby. Then, we met up with some old friends that live in the area for dinner. It was a night filled with laughs and story telling and the perfect way to end the amazing trip!
We woke up Sunday morning, packed up and left for home. We were sad to be ending this trip, which made the drive home feel even longer! And after being in a trailer for 10 days, we were overwhelmed with how big the house felt!
I am so grateful to add Moab, UT to my resume of life!
